Dairy Goats

dairyThe dairy herd at Champion Livestock was started in the fall of 2009 when Robyn bought her first Nubian, Lilly, as a companion for her first Boer goat, Lola. She found that she loved the dairy goats and really loved to show them, and so she started to expand her herd. The second doe was Leala, a record grade Nubian/Alpine cross. The second breed that was added was the Nigerian Dwarf with Mattie, who was purchased in January of 2012, and the first LaMancha was Tornado, who was purchased in May of 2012. Finally the first Alpine was added in September of 2013.

Robyn shows her dairy goats from April until September at many local shows, and she attends Nationals if she can make it. She truly enjoys showing the dairy goats and hopes to eventually make soap with their milk. Currently extra milk is frozen and fed to orphaned kids each spring.
